In the fourth quarter of 2023, the performance of the top five navigation and maps applications on iOS in Italy demonstrated varied trends in downloads and active user metrics. Here’s a closer look at how these apps fared:

Google Maps saw a consistent increase in downloads, starting from approximately 34.5K in late September and peaking at around 57.4K in the last week of December. Its weekly active users (WAUs) fluctuated slightly but remained strong, ranging from around 8.1M to 8.4M throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced steady downloads with a slight uptick towards the end of the quarter, reaching about 15.1K in the final week of December. WAUs showed some variability, with a low of approximately 524K in late November and a high of about 640K in early October.

Google Earth had a moderate download performance, peaking at about 10.1K in the final week of December. WAUs saw a decline from around 88.9K in early October to about 79.2K by the end of December.
